We have decided to name our new daughter Clara. Unfortunately, it does present a problem with our different backgrounds. We prefer the American pronounciation (rhyming with "Sarah") but know that she'll hear the English pronounciation as well (rhyming with "Zara"). We're not going to be sticklers about it. We already deal with the Alister/Alistair thing. We can handle this.
As for her middle name, MacKay was Karen's middle name before she got married (she dropped it and took her maiden name - Stewart - as a middle name instead). It is also her father's middle name and was his mother's maiden name. Although it was changed to a lowercase "k" at some point, we've decided to use the traditional capital "K", mainly because we like it that way.
