In an attempt to beat the heat, we decided to head to the mountains. We drove to a little town about an hour and a half away in the Pyrenees called Ax-les-Thermes. It's home to a ski resort as well as lots of spas due to 60 natural hot springs in the area.
We took the gondola up the ski mountain. Alister was a bit wary of this and kept a tight hold on us.

We found this shop in the village - "Les secrets de Clara." Hmmm, wonder what she is hiding?

One of the town's attractions is the Bassin de Ladres, a shallow pool originally built to soothe the wounds of Knights Templar injured in the Crusades and the ulcers of the town's leper colony. * Nothing like sticking your bare feet in an 800-year old bath. Leprosy anyone?
Alister is really enjoying his time with his Uncle Gordon.
